Who You say I am

Updated: Jun 6, 2018

Regarding the recent events that have happened in my life, a big question of identity is rising up in me. ''All my experiences are shaping me into the woman I am today'', I said in my introduction. Although experts will usually agree on this quote, it is not always true. Unfortunately, our experiences can leave us bitter, ashamed, empty... ‘’How can I still enjoy the rest of my life, when these experiences left me with indelible scars?’’, I have begun to wonder lately.

As I slowly return to singing at Church, I was given the opportunity to lead a song by Ben Fielding and Reuben Morgan, titled ''Who You Say I am''. Let me tell you, I was not in the mood of confessing these lyrics at all. How can I? ''I am very far from being who God says

I am in this very moment", I thought. While preparing the song, the verses were telling a different story, the story of a NEW BEGINNING.

See, it is not always about being strong, victorious, prosperous and all the highs. Otherwise, who are we then, when we lose our battles? When life does not go as planed? I don’t have all the answers for now. All I know is, from my church to my workplace, the amount of love and support I have been receiving, leaves me speechless. It is true: I am loved, I am valued,

I am blessed! Call it coincidence or luck... For me there is a Mastermind who is moving things around in my favor. He has never failed me yet and this is my focus. Because I trust Him, I can confidently say: I am who He says I am.
